Ann-Marie James (Derek Hill Foundation Scholar, October-December 2013) lives and works in London and Suffolk. Recent solo exhibitions include “Proserpina”, Karsten Schubert, London, and “Musée Imaginaire”, Knoerle & Battig, Winterthur. Recent group exhibitions include “Here We Go, Part II: Volume”, Karsten Schubert, London, and “The Jerwood Drawing Prize 2013”.

James’ paintings in acrylic and oil are built up through layer upon layer of materials and techniques. From a pencil drawing based upon a historic sculpture she produces a silkscreen and through layers of print, drawing and paint the repetition of figurative elements gives way to a complex abstract composition.

Ann-Marie James (Derek Hill Foundation Scholar, ottobre-dicembre 2013) vive e lavora a Londra e nel Suffolk. Le sue recenti mostre personali sono “Proserpina”, Karsten Schubert, Londra, e “Musée Imaginaire”, Knoerle & Battig, Winterthur. Fra le collettive recenti, “Here We Go, Part II: Volume”, Karsten Schubert, Londra, e “The Jerwood Drawing Prize 2013”.
